BAOBAB Pre-Employment, Digital Media and Cooking Skill Building workshops
The BAOBAB Pre-Employment workshops empower youth to seek, obtain and maintain employment. The workshops will cover topics such as skill identification and assessment, time management, networking, mock interview, financial literacy, writing the WAP statement, practice interview questions, resume, labour market information, career perspectives, and what employers are looking for in youth. The program will also include digital storytelling and cooking workshops to provide youth with practical skills. Participants will receive free food safe training!
The workshops will be held on Wednesdays from 6pm-8pm and Saturdays from 11am-1pm. The Wednesday sessions will focus on pre-employment and Digital Media and the Saturday sessions will focus on pre-employment and cooking workshops. The workshops will be held at the SFU Surrey – TD Community Engagement Centre on Wednesdays which is located at the City Centre Library (10350 University Drive, Surrey), in room 401, and at the Chuck Bailey Recreation Centre on Saturdays at 13458 107A Ave, Surrey, BC.
